About the Author
Bouanane — Founder & Author of ADOCHS
I am the founder and sole writer behind ADOCHS. My mission is to bridge two worlds: the enduring value of cultural heritage and the practical possibilities of artificial intelligence.
Through ADOCHS, I explore practical ways to help families preserve old photographs and historical documents, while helping creators make informed use of modern image-processing tools.
Driven by Research-Oriented Heritage
The name ADOCHS draws inspiration from Auditing Digital Outputs in the Cultural Heritage Sector — a research initiative I closely follow, launched in Belgium in collaboration with CegeSoma, the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR), VUB, and ULB.
This background reflects a principle that guides my work today: digitization is about more than creating a digital copy. Image quality, metadata, and long-term preservation matter. I apply these rigorous principles to the practical challenges faced by families and independent creators.
Please note: The current ADOCHS website is an independent editorial project. The connection to the original research is one of shared subject matter and guiding principles, not institutional affiliation.
Exploring AI with a Critical Eye
AI is changing how we restore images. While these technologies produce impressive results, they have limitations: some tools reconstruct details rather than recover original information.
I explore these technologies through practical workflows. I explain what tools can actually do, where they fall short, and how to make informed decisions. I value clarity, responsible recommendations, and deep respect for the original material.
Practical Guides & Workflows
I write practical guides to help you digitize family archives, evaluate AI restoration tools, and develop reliable backup strategies. My goal is to make digital preservation easier to understand and accessible to families, independent creators, and anyone who wants to protect important memories.
